Project "Cleanin' Out My Closet" Is Underway

Because I only have class on Tuesdays and Thursdays this semester I have a lot more time than I am used to during school time. So today I decided to put my spare time to good use and clean out my closet.

It has been a long time coming considering I can no longer fit all of my clean clothes in my closet. So my clean clothes just end up sitting on top of the dryer for weeks upon end. Which I can only assume annoys my roommate to no end.

So here we go. Project "Cleanin' Out My Closet".

High-Waisted Skirts

My brother says I shouldn't wear them anymore. That they're not flattering. He's probably right. Looking through the pictures I took today, I almost agree with him. But I just can't stop wearing them. I love them!

Like this little beauty that I have on. The day after Christmas, my boyfriend took me shopping (adorable, I know). But unfortunately we didn't have a lot of time because I had to be at work. Well, in my hometown they opened up a two-story Forever 21 (which boyfriend just so happens to work at now. I'm lucky. I know) So in my time crush I was frantically grabbing clothes left and right and just when I was about to call it a day, I found this skirt. It called to me.

So now I own the pretty little thing. And no matter what my brother thinks about it. I'm still wearing it. Sorry Zac.

I Have A Reading Obsession

Want to know how many books I've read since school let out in December?

13.

I can't stop. I finish one book and I immediately move on to another. Good thing there is a plethora of books out there to feed my obsession. I just finished The Scorch Trials by James Dashner. Ah-mazing. Dashner's world keeps you on the edge of your seat and has your mind spinning with conspiracy theories against WICKED. Are they good? Are they bad? I don't know. The only bad thing is that my googling skills are lacking to find out with the third book in the trilogy comes out. Luckily for me, I work for a bookstore and can search for things like that in our system.

If all my talk of books is giving you an itch to read, here are a few of my suggestions. Fair warning, they're all teen books.

The Tiger's Curse--just released. And I heard someone say that it is marketed as the new Hunger Games. That should be enough for you to read it right there.

The Maze Runner--the book before The Scorch Trials.

And of course my all time favorite--City of Bones, book 1 of the Mortal Instruments. Anyone else keeping your fingers crossed for Alex Pettyfer to say yes to the movie?

Now...what do I read next?

Yes, This Is The Same Shirt I Wore Yesterday

But there aren't any rules against that. In fact, I think that some people might encourage it. Especially if I was in the middle of a remix challenge---which alas, I am not. Although, Kendi is hosting another one. But considering it is about 40 degrees colder now than it was during the last one, I think this would be more of a challenge, and I'm just going to take it easy this semester.

You know, I'm only taking seven hours. I go to school only on Tuesday and Thursday, which means every weekend is a four day weekend. My grandparents surprised me and got a diamond put in my Aggie Ring. And well, today my friends and I booked our tickets to New York City for Spring Break. I think it's shaping up to be a wonderful semester.

Look! Look! Two Days In A Row!

I'm blogging two days in a row. Pretty cool right? But I really wanted to show my outfit from today. I really liked it. It was conceived last night right before I fell asleep. Those are always my best outfits. The ones made with the last minutes of my conscious mind.

Unfortunately, the weather almost ruined my outfit today. This morning around 8 it was cold, but bearable. But slowly it kept getting colder...and colder...and colder. And now it is a unbearable 36 degrees outside. My velvet blazer wasn't enough but, because sometimes beauty is pain I suffered the cold. Although I did add a lovely, and warm J. Crew scarf.  And of course I had my much beloved Levi's 524 skinny jeans. I always forget how much I love them until I put them on. I would buy myself an army of Levi's 524s if I wasn't on a small price per jeans budget. Ahh sad day.

I Blog For Me...Well, Maybe

If case you haven't noticed I have been a little MIA lately. I have a list of excuses. Ready? I worked all day. My outfit was wrinkled. The weather was bad. The sun went down. Etc. Etc. But other than that list, there was no real reason I haven't blogged. But then I started thinking...wasn't there?

Okay, Cassidy, I said to myself, why aren't you blogging? I figured out was that maybe, kind of, sort of, am not liking what I posting. I feel like it isn't as cool or as good as some of the other fashion blogs that I read and it maybe, kind of, sort of makes me a little sad. I don't have the best template (ah-hem Zac, you're suppose to help me, remember?), I definitely don't have the best photos, considering I take them all myself, and of course because I'm a female, I'm constantly comparing myself to others.

But that doesn't matter right? Because I'm suppose to be blogging for myself, not for everyone else. Well...maybe, kind of, sort of...I don't want  my mom and me to be the only people who read this. We all have a voice and we want it to be heard. Something we learn at a very young age. NO, Mom, I will not eat those carrots. I don't care how good they will make my eyesight. Does it always work? No. But it's worth a shot.

So I continue to keep blogging and tell myself it is just for me. But inside I'm screaming READ ME!

As a side note...I just realized this whole post is very....well petty.

Windy City

It seems that Winter has officially hit Texas. As I speak, the temperature is currently 30 degrees. But according to weather.com it feels like 22, with the crazy wind about. That's cold y'all. I slept with my feet under Captain last night so that my little toesies didn't freeze off. So taking my outfit photos today was a challenge, I don't know how all y'all cold weather fashion bloggers do it.  Because I thought my fingers were about to unionize against  me for putting them through that.

Ahh but what is that saying? Beauty is pain. Or something along those lines. Very true my dear friends, very true.

Just A Boring Title

Since I wore this outfit yesterday, I don't really know what to write about today. The weather? No. I complain about that too much--although it is way too hot to be January. See how I don't even have a jacket on? Yeah, that's because it is 70 degrees. Oops, I guess I talked about the weather.

But what everyone really needs to know is that the Aggies are playing in the Cotton Bowl tonight (whoop!) against LSU. And according to my boyfriend, who I get all of my football information from to make me sound like I know what I'm talking about, A&M and LSU are old rivals from the 90s. But apparently LSU got tired of A&M kicking their boot-ay so they stopped playing us. Well, LSU...we'll see how comes out on top tonight.

C'est Bon!

Oui. Oui. Bonjour. Baguette.

Je peux parler français.

Okay. Not really. I just Google translated that. But I did one year of French in high school. Which the only thing I remember from besides hello, goodbye, and baguette is the pledge. No, not the French pledge. The American Pledge of Allegiance. So if you ever find yourself in a situation where someone is holding a gun to your head and saying they will shoot you unless you recite the pledge in French, well, you know who to call.

Hell-O 2011

Umm... it's 2011 y'all. Can I get a WHOOP from all y'all seniors? This is the year I "officially" become an adult and graduate from college. Now I say "officially", because we all know that I will forever be a child at heart, forever love Disney movies, and still secretly want a pony.

But this year I promise to graduate, (cross your fingers) find a job, to never grow up, and to love with all my heart.
